Ram’s Horn Ministries Faith Statements and Vision

1. We believe in one true, living God who exists as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are worthy of all honor, praise, and glory as Creator and Sustainer of all things. (John 1:1-9; Romans 8: 9-11)

2. We believe Jesus Christ is who He claimed to be - the Son of God, the Messiah, the Living Word. Scripture calls Him the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, who, being the very nature of God, laid aside His glory and became human. He lived among humans, humbly, and was tempted in every way as we are but did not sin. He came to destroy the works of Satan, and disarm the wicked demon rulers and authorities, making a public display of them, triumphing over them through His death of crucifixion and, three days later, His resurrection. He also came to baptize His followers in His Holy Spirit. (Psalm 147:3; Isaiah 42; John 1: 29-34; Philippians 2: 5-11; Colossians 2: 14 & 15)

3. We believe it is our Heavenly Father’s will to fill us with His Holy Spirit, unite us, make us one, lead us into all truth, empower our lives, comfort us, encourage us, teach us, and transform us into His likeness, that we may live free from the power of sin, not carrying out the desires of the flesh.  We crucify the flesh and choose to walk by the power of the Spirit choosing to obey God in every detail of our lives. (John 16 & 17; Romans 8)

4. We believe that we are children of God, seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We received a gift of salvation from the bondage of sin and eternity in Hell, a place of eternal torment and separation from God. This gift came by the grace of God as we simply came to Him in faith, wanting to trust, obey, and follow Him. This gift of salvation is a gift freely given by Him because of His great love for us and is not the result of anything we have earned or done. (1 Corinthians 2:12; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Hebrews 8: 1-6)

5. We believe our only true strength is in the Lord and in the power of His might. We put no confidence in our flesh, our own efforts, will power, or fortitude. For the weapons of spiritual warfare are not of the flesh. We put on the whole armor of God and resolve to stand firm in our faith and resist the evil one. (Ephesians 6: 10-18)

6. We believe that apart from Christ we can do nothing. We declare ourselves to be totally dependent on Him for everything we do. We choose to abide in Christ to bear much fruit and glorify Him. Jesus is our Lord and because of His promise to put a new spirit in us and cause us to do His will, we will obey Him completely, rejecting any counterfeit gifts or works of Satan in our lives. (Ezekiel 36: 25-32; John 14, 15)

7. We believe that His Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and, that it is truth that will set us free and, that as we walk in His light we will have fellowship with Him.  We believe that walking in His light, His path, is the only way to have true fellowship with Him. We declare that the Bible is the only authoritative standard for truth.  We choose to speak the truth in love. Therefore, we stand against Satan’s deceptions by taking every thought captive in obedience to Christ. (John 1:4; John 1: 1-9; John 8: 12 & 32; 2 Corinthians 10: 4 & 5)

8. We believe and trust Him enough to give ourselves wholly to Him, asking that He use us as instruments of righteousness and we present ourselves as living, holy sacrifices to Him. We renew our minds by the living Word of God to prove that the will of God is good, acceptable, and perfect.  We put off the old self with its evil practices and put on the new self, declaring ourselves to be new creatures in Christ. (Romans 12:1 & 2; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

9. We believe that God has proven His love for us because as we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into His Kingdom of Light. In Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.  As we trust in Jesus, our Shepherd, and follow where He leads, we are no longer destined for hell, a place of eternal torment and separation from God, but are destined to live in His Kingdom, beginning the moment we come to Him in faith. We will live forever with Christ. We will listen for His voice as He opens our ears with His Word and will follow Him wherever He may lead. (Psalm 34:10; John 10: 11-18 & 27; Romans 5:8, 10:17; Colossians 1:14)

10. We believe we should obey the two greatest commandments: 1. To love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, and minds and, 2. To love our neighbor - all those whom God brings into our lives - just as we love ourselves. (Luke 10; Matthew 22: 37-40)

11. We believe that Jesus has completely fulfilled these two commandments, such that He generously sacrificed all of His life to redeem us and call us His own. As we ask, He will give us this same kind of love, mercy, compassion, and ability to love and care for others - especially those who seem unlovable. (John 10:11 & 15, 13:31-35)

12. We believe the best way to live is to live just as Jesus did. We will be apprentices of Jesus, learning as much from Him as we can, teaching others to do the same, knowing He promises He will always be with us. (Matthew 28: 18-20)

13. We believe that as Jesus, The Sacrificial Lamb of God, came humbly into our world, He will, someday soon, return as Christ, The King of kings, Lord of lords, the Beginning and the End. At His return He will judge both the living and the dead. Heaven and earth, as we know them, will be destroyed, and all will be made new. Jesus will then, once again, dwell among humans, those who follow Him and want to be with Him, “…and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Until this time, we will work to conquer our world, (our families, neighborhoods, work places, churches, schools, prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, homeless camps, drug houses, streets, communities, and nations), for His Kingdom of Heaven, proclaiming His blessings to all who would believe and follow Him, teaching them how to do all the things He taught us to do in His scriptures. (Matthew 28: 18 & 19; Rev. 20 & 21).

14. We believe that the good news of living in His Kingdom, right now, is that when we seek, more than any other thing, to do His will, He will take care of all our needs, right now, here in our current existence. Since He has promised to take care of all our needs, we no longer have to worry and strive to take care of our own needs but are freed to care for the needs of others. And, as He has promised to give us life and to give abundantly, we must also, in turn, give abundantly to others. (Matthew 6:25-34; Matthew 13:44; Luke 18:22;)

15. We believe that since He promises to be with us and care for all our needs, His will for us is to imitate His life by generously sacrificing our lives, putting all our efforts into meeting the needs of others, declaring freedom from the bondage of sin, declaring release from heavy burdens, declaring liberation to those who are oppressed, and declaring healing to those suffering from disease. (Isaiah 58: 6-14; Mark 16: 17 & 18; John 5:20, 14:12; Ephesians 5:1; 1 Thessalonians 2:14)

16. We believe in the vision of Ram’s Horn Ministries, found in Isaiah 58: 6-14 (NKJV):

6  “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

7  Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?

8  Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

9  Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

10  If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.

11  The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

12  Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

13  “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,

14  Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

17. We’re all in!! (Revelation 5:13) “And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: ‘Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!’ “
